Intermediate-Senior Civil/Municipal Engineers
Focus Corporation is a multidiscipline engineering, geomatics and planning consulting firm with offices in major centers throughout Western Canada. We are currently seeking Intermediate–Senior Civil/Municipal Engineers to join our Calgary team.
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, you will:
- Be responsible for managing assignments relating to water distribution, drainage and sanitary sewer systems, infrastructure design, infrastructure planning/studies, water resources and modeling of related infrastructure.
- Utilize your exposure to hydraulics of piping and pumping systems and storm water management.
- Apply established project management processes in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships; including managing client expectations.
- Manage client expectations and ensure project deliverables, schedules and budget objectives are met.
- Coordinate internal technical services including legal survey, storm water management, urban design, and construction services.
- Participate in and have the technical abilities to coordinate and prepare proposals, tenders and negotiate contracts.
As the successful candidate you:
- Have 5-10+ years’ experience in municipal engineering.
- Are registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGGA.
- Are resourceful and detail oriented
- Have formal management training (an asset).
- Have experience with multi-firm, multi-office and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Provide leadership and direction to junior staff with respect to municipal infrastructure, performance management, training opportunities and ensure branch goals are achieved with a strong emphasis on the business unit goals of growth and profit.
- Have exceptional oral and written communication expertise which is complimented with a keen eye for detail and project management skills.
- Ideally, are familiar with current City of Calgary development guidelines, land use by-laws and technical specifications.
