Dillon is a well established, employee-owned professional consulting firm operating across Canada and internationally. We provide a wide range of consulting and design services related to the infrastructure, real estate, resource, industrial and government sectors in Canada and abroad. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Municipal Engineer/Land Development Engineer in our Vancouver office.
Responsibilities:
- Development and leadership of a municipal engineering team serving government sector clients and the land development industry in British Columbia
- Client relationship building and strategic business development related to municipal and land development servicing needs, in particular in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland
- Technical guidance, training and mentoring of team members including other engineers, technicians and technologists
- Management of projects including the functional and detailed design and construction of municipal infrastructure related to water supply, sewers, roads, and site servicing Liaison with private and public sector clients, government review and approval agencies, subconsultants and subcontractors
- Input to the career development of more junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
- Contributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
- Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request
Qualifications:
- A degree in civil engineering
- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in British Columbia, or eligible to be licensed within six months
- At least ten years’ work experience in engineering for municipalities and/or the land development industry
Experience:
- Demonstrated success in client relations, business development and the leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Experienced in the design of various municipal infrastructure including roadways, stormwater management works, water supply systems, sewage systems, underground and surface works for land development and/or waste management facilities
- Familiarity with contract administration services and requirements
- Working knowledge of relevant municipal servicing standards and requirements
- Strong interpersonal, communications, organization and time management skills
