Building Science Project Associate
Vancouver, BC

Halsall's consultants plan, design and manage projects for architects, building owners and managers. This includes structural and cladding engineering, sustainable design management, restoration engineering, and capital planning. Purpose of the role:
Team members will work with property owners and managers of buildings with performance issues. As one of our Consultants, you will become actively engaged in building restoration projects and fulfill a variety of technical and project management responsibilities.

Scope of responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of project teams delivering engineering solutions to clients
  • Conduct building evaluations and prepare engineering specifications and technical reports
  • Supervise construction and site review, monitoring quality control
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, responding to various engineering related enquiries
  • Manage the contract administration requirements for projects
  • Accept responsibility for project deliverables and outcomes
  • Contribute to knowledge management systems & practices
  • Build upon the firm’s reputation and ability to generate new business/work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, or an Applied Science
  • 2-5 years of related work experience on building science/restoration engineering projects
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated and effective communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
