Structural Technologist – Intermediate to Senior

Focus Corporation is a multidiscipline engineering, geomatics and planning consulting firm with offices in major centers throughout Western Canada. We are currently seeking a Structural Technologist – Intermediate to Senior to join our Calgary Transportation team.

Reporting to Project Manager Transportation Structures you will:

• Participate in design & preparation of engineering drawings using appropriate transportation standards for structures.
• Assist in compilation of construction and as-built information.
• Organize and maintain a design and CAD digital file database for each project.
• Successfully carrying out assignments on project design teams.
• Facilitate and ensure the quality of design, drawings and graphic work produced for the team.
• You will be involved in all aspects of preparing the contract drawings to either AT or City Standards.
• Be responsible for the structural design drawings, choose design report drawings/sketches and the preparation of contract documents.

As the ideal candidate you:

• Have a minimum 3 – 4 years’ of structural drafting.
• Are familiar with provincial and municipal structural drafting standards in Alberta.
• Have good oral and written communication complemented with a keen eye for detail.
• Work well in teams.
• Want to work in an awesome focused on training and development.
• Are a member of or eligible for membership in ASET and have relevant industry experience.
• Are an effective team player.
• Have exceptional oral and written communication expertise which is complimented with a keen eye for detail.
• Have the ability to think independently and be resourceful in completing your work.
