About CEBC
The Consulting Engineers of British Columbia is a business organisation that represents and provides assistance to consulting engineering firms, rather than individual engineers, through corporate membership. CEBC members number nearly 100 firms across the province constituting a sizeable portion of the industry in BC. Member firms range from the sole proprietor to the large multinational corporation.

Incorporated as a Society in 1976, with liaison groups in the Okanagan and Vancouver Island, the CEBC provides a top-down approach to improving the commercial environment for consulting engineering firms by lobbying to policymakers in districts, provincial and municipal governments as well as clients in the private sector. It coordinates a common industry approach on procurement, contract language and liability issues.

CEBC actively promotes members’ consulting services. It maintains close alliances with other business and technical organizations to keep abreast of issues developing in related industries. Through its affiliation with the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada, the CEBC promotes its members’ business interests at federal and international levels, as well. For more information see Services to Members.

CEBC firms provide leading edge engineering and technology-based consulting services for the built and natural environment through independent expert multidisciplinary advice to clients. They provide services in the fields of building, infrastructure, transport, communications and information technology, project management, environmental management, water engineering, geotechnical, chemical, electrical, energy and mining. CEBC members produce results. Their outstanding accomplishments are many of BC’s landmarks. These include: the Lion’s Gate Bridge, the Alex Fraser Bridge, the One Wall Centre, McNair Creek hydroelectric project, seismic upgrades to the Royal Columbian Hospital Health Care Centre, Town of Golden’s sewage treatment upgrades, the Yoho Bridge and more. As BC prepares for the 2010 Winter Olympics, watch for CEBC expertise in many new projects.
